Mindfulness involves the conscious awareness of your mental and physical states. The practice has been used in a variety of settings including cancer treatment, substance abuse, stress management, and traditional therapy. Our Mindfulness Matters workshop was designed to introduce you to a few basic techniques that may help reduce the prolonged activation of the sympathetic nervous system, which is often associated with stress. The practice encourages us to become rooted in the present moment to explore our thoughts, sensations, and emotions with an open mind; without judgment.
